Some days with the fam.
My dad and sisters came down the other day to see us. (My mom stayed up in SV with Willy and Lauren) It was such a good time. We always joke that they bring the cold weather down with them, which funnily enough happened this time as well. They only got one day of "good" weather, the other days were all rainy. It did clear out enough on Saturday for us to have a BBQ for Dusty's birthday, and we had plenty of walks with the Tys meister. I hope it was a relaxing stay for them, because it certainly was for me! It was nice to have other people play with Tyson and enjoy him. We played tag together up at Park Discovery, which is becoming sort of a tradtion, and saw lots of movies in the theater. I recommend Iron Man. Definitely a guy movie, but oh so fun. The best parts of the visit were just hanging out and talking. We are very good at that. I think we got a few games of Sequence in, and lots of movies watched downstairs. ( I promise that's not all we did) :)

Dad pulling his typical camera face, and cute Kiki beautiful as ever.
Sara, or "Doo-ah" as Tyson calls her.
Kiki and Cubby.
I can't believe it, I am actually in a picture!
Cubby and I being our usual selves.
Dad and Tyson.

window shopping
While Tyson was napping, I took a few minutes to browse some of my favorite searches in etsy. I've been on a big jewelry kick lately. Here's some of the many that I instantly wanted and continue to crave.
These rings are fabulous. I love the beads on the fabric.
So me. Reminds me of ancient cathedrals and statues.
This one is summery and sparkly.
Okay, so I probably wouldn't buy this. But it comes ready to write notes in, and this way, you wouldn't misplace them!
Perfect for a night out on the town.
It think I would catch myself just looking at this one all of the time. While I was driving, reading.... so very pretty.
Just really liked this one.
I've been looking for some charms for my bracelet. I think I've found the perfect ones.
How could I resist?

first day of HOT
Those of you who know me know that I am NOT a heat-lovin' person. I grew up in the frigid north and my blood still hasn't thinned enough for me to enjoy these hot days. So I sit around feeling lazy and wanting to take the day off. Yes, my piano, sofa table, okay, basically everything needs to be dusted off, kitchen floor needs to be mopped, and Tyson needs a bath. Severely. I think he was licking dirt off of his legs....
And here I am downloading music off of iTunes, checking my eBay bids, and enjoying my ice-water. My poor thirsty plants outside are drooping sadly, and I just can't muster the courage to brave the backyard. I did take Tyson on a little walk and I haven't cooled off from it yet. Just so you know, I haven't been completely useless today. I am in the process of painting my hallway. I got it all prepped and primed, so now it's just get Tyson to bed and I can finish the first coat.
I'm sure all of you in really warm climates are laughing at me hating 90 degree weather, but I am still going to enjoy my large fan blowing on me from two feet away (we don't have central air dang it) and let my toddler run around in his diaper for a little while longer as he practices jumping off of the couch.
For those of you who don't mind the hot, I applaud you. Maybe someday I will change, but for now my weekend bags are remaining unpacked because that means I have to be in a room without a fan. I would turn on the swamp cooler, but it's in the hallway where I am currently painting... don't want to have the paint get dirt on it since we haven't really used the cooler yet this spring.
Spring? Who am I kidding. I think summer is officially here.

Happy
What makes me happy? Lots of things. Here's a few....
*BBQ's with good friends. I love it when we all get together to share food and laughs. We had planned to do this one outside, but the wind was too strong. Thanks for bringing yummy food Patrice, and Tiff.

That's right Jess, eat that burger.

*Planting flowers and pretty things. Since Saturday was the first day that is deemed "okay" for planting things outside, I was out and about by 7:30 am, buying plants, and getting my hands dirty.

This last one has my latest DI find. Check out the fabulous topiary container. $2.00. Can I get a Wha Wha?

*Going on drives with Dusty. Dusty's boss called him out for an emergency meeting last night, and he (meaning Dusty) invited me to tag along up to Panguitch to see their property and pond out in the hills. Tyson stayed home with Joy and Sara and we got to spend some time together.
*Good babysitters. We are so lucky to have family around that are willing to watch Tyson for us whenever we need it. Tyson absolutely loves it. The only bad part is when they play tricks on us. For instance..... Last night we got home about 10:30 and we we pulled up there were no lights on in the house and we couldn't see any cars that belonged to anyone. We searched in the house, upstairs and downstairs. No one. No one sleeping in our beds (which has happened before....*cough* Sara) We were starting to get a little panicky. We were about to go to check on Tyson when Joy and Sara jumped out from their hiding places. They had moved the cars and been waiting in the darkness. Psychos. Better not happen again ladies.
But the laughing afterward did make me happy.
*When Tyson and I stroke each others faces to practice being "soft".
*When Tyson does the happy dance as he runs though the mister on our water hose. The boy sure does have a thing for water. Takes after me I guess.
*When Tyson leads me around the house to gather shoes and a hoodie for me so he can take me outside. I'm sure that's what he's thinking.
