I'm a major fan of.....

Every once in a while you come across things that resonate with you. Things that make your life better, even if only superficially.

I thought I'd share a few of mine with you. :)

I recently downloaded the mp3 versions of The Safety Kids, Volumes 1-3, for Tyson to listen to. These have sentimental value to me, because I listened to them when I was growing up and still know the words to all of the songs. The third volume is newer though, so we are learning the songs together. Tyson has already learned his phone number better and asked questioned that have ended up in good safety conversations.

So let's face it. One of the cheapest shampoos available out there. Which I view as a good thing in this case. I have extremely oily hair. I generally have to wash it every day or can skip a day when pushing it. When I use this though, I can go up to three days and have fairly decent hair, which is a big deal for me. The smell is not that fabulous and I would be open to any other clairifying suggestions you might have, but for right now, this is the ticket for me. I have tried loads of others ( believe me I am a product junkie) but this is the best.

I LOVE LOVE the Everyday Food magazine. When it comes every month in the mail I devour it from front to back. There are so many great suggestions, tips, recipes etc. Run and get a subscription!

I am a fan of all things lemon. When I tried this frozen deliciousness I was hooked. The best part is, is that you can have that cold, sweet fix at night and not feel bad when your 1/2 cup serving is only 110 calories! Not that I am a big calorie counter, but every little bit helps right? And there is just enough sour in this fresh dessert that when you have made it down about 1/2 cup, you have had enough! Perfect!

Last but not least is my sunscreen of choice. I have gotten some major flack for using this intense sunscreen -we'll see who looks better in thirty years dear siblings- but if you understand how sunscreen works you'll switch over. It's UVA and UVB protection, broad spectrum, seriously sheer, waterproof, and simply wonderful. I am not exaggerating when I say that I have this stashed everywhere, ready for every occasion!

I could go on and on dear readers, but I'll end for the time being. I'd love to hear what some of you love -what rings your bell.

Celebration

Just a few photos to capture Dusty's birthday. We started the day with yummy pancakes and smoothies. After church, we relaxed and drove out to where my Grandma is to have a little dinner. They had reserved a dining room and had dinner served. So thoughtful of them! Then a few days later we invited some friends over to have a barbeque. We hoped the weather would be good (it has been so windy lately) and the evening turned out very well!

Memorial Day Fun

This Memorial Day was completely relaxed and full of fun. Dusty woke up and directly hung out our American Flag. -wish I would have taken a picture of it- We ate a nice breakfast. After talking Dusty out of the six+ mile hike he wanted to do, (because let's face it people, I'm not super-woman pregnant lady) we decided to visit Snow Canyon and do some of the shorter little hikes there. it was a good choice. Tyson loved the roaming trails and creepy crawly lizards.

Tyson had a little trouble with the fact that he couldn't exactly wander where he pleased and had to stay with the pack. :) But overall, he did quite well.

We took the roundabout way there and started hiking quite early so that it was still cool.

Dusty and I surprised Tyson with swimming later. We weren't sure if the pools would be open. This was great fun for all of us. Dusty loved the water slides and (apparently) the life jackets so he could float and drift. Tyson loved the shallow water and new swim toys I brought, and I loved the weightlessness you get from swimming. Plus, I just love swimming. I would go every day if I could.

After swimming we did the tiniest bit of shopping and drove home for naps and lounging. I even got a little bit of stuff done in the craft room!

Dusty and I watched a memorial special on PBS, and that rounded the day off nicely. It was such a nice break and so relaxing.
