For all of you Twilight freaks... ahem....girls

Here's the best pictures I've found so far of still shots of the movie, for all of you interested. I know my sisters will be (hee hee) and possibly quite a few of my friends if they dare to admit it.

Check them out HERE.

Edward is growing on me I have to say, and I especially love the ones of him smiling wide. The pale face and topaz eyes are shocking at first, but hey, he's a vampire right? Enjoy.

Problem solved!

Lately I've been having an earring dilemma. I don't have room for them in my bowls or jewelry boxes, and I wanted to have easy access to them. My sisters lay them all out neatly on their dressers, but I don't have room for that. So, the other day, I got this idea to use a tree branch. I painted it red and stuck it in a small vase I found at DI. I hung my earrings on it and couldn't be happier with the result. I still have plenty of room, and somehow hanging them all up and seeing the effect made me want to go buy more earrings......

Bittersweet Trip

We made it home from our little spring break vacation a few days ago. I've finally gotten all of the stuff put away, the house cleaned, and found time to blog. On the whole, the trip was a good one. Tyson was able to watch the herd of deer that have taken up residence in the town, I enjoyed playing my parents "super-nice" piano (which somehow always makes mine sound a little puny when I get home) and we all got to spend time we each other.

The bittersweet part came when my dad suffered a heart attack the night we arrived. He's okay and doing well now, but it was a little traumatic for us, especially my little brother. For those of you who know my dad know how unexpected this was. He is so hard-core with working out and eating right. My parents are very health conscious. It was actually a tender mercy to my parents that we came up when we did, because Lauren was able to drive to the Idaho Falls Medical Center with my Mom, and I was able to stay home and make sure that Willy, Kiki, and Bronwyn were taken care of. Kiki and Cubby (Bronwyn) took turns staying home from school to hang out with me and help answer phone calls. Tyson loved spending time with Willy. He pretty much followed him around non-stop. We were sad that Grandma and Grandpa weren't there, but so glad that my dad was okay. My parents sure are loved. People kept bringing more and more food. It was amazing to watch it pile up. Plus, I can't even begin to describe how thoughtful people were with their numerous phone calls offering help and their love.

Grandma and Grandpa Hoopes stopped by to play. Grandpa took Tyson out in the snow for awhile and dug Willy a snow tunnel. I had planned to stay with them for a night, but couldn't after all. I was grateful that they could drop in on us.

Looking out the window of my parent's house. BBBRRRR!

Rockin' out on the piano

Fancy that?

I love it when these quizzes start making their way through the blog world. Every so often they creep back in and sometimes they are good enough to make me curious enough to try them. I took this little quiz and laughed my whole way through. A good laugh. I have read each of the characters, ahem, books I mean, and it's not hard to tell "who" you're going to be like when you know which character goes with each question. Since I like these three characters and feel I'm a blend of them all (after doing the quiz of course) I'm putting them all on. hee hee. If you want to know why I chose these three, you'll have to go to the site and read the summaries, then add and subtract as you think matches my personality. Unless you've read all of the books of course.

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

I am Marianne Dashwood!

I am Emma Woodhouse!

busy....

recovering right now, so I probably will be missing from the blog for awhile. I have some nasty flu-thing that really has me bummed. When I heard it was such good weather outside via the weather channel, (since I haven't been outside for two days,) I was extra bummed because the yard really needs some work. But, mostly I just wish I could sleep. If you are driving by the house around 3 in the morning, and the light is on, it's probably me camped on the couch trying to read myself to sleep. The bad thing is, is that I can't sleep during the day to catch up and it's starting to show under my eyes. I hope I get better and don't pass it onto Tyson before our trip up to the see the family in Star Valley next week. We don't want to spread more disease like we did the last time we visited. :) I hate being sick. Wish I could take a "sick day", but Dusty really does do a good job at picking up the slack and nursing me. His mom would be really proud.

Good Things

A sampling of things today that made me happy!

My workout this morning kicked my fandango, if you know what I mean. Thanks bunches Tiff (and I mean that in a very good way)

Tyson slept in until after 8 am, which is very long for him.

I saw some shoots of snowdrops peeking up in the neighbors flower-bed.

I watched Sara learn how to ride the motorcycle. She is much braver than I. Tyson wanted to be on it himself. Maybe when Mom's not looking.....

I got to spend a good hour in the yard raking, pulling away dead flowers, and doing some routine maintenance.

We took Tyson to a park where: he made friends with a "doggie", ate dirt, and ran on all of the sidewalks, but not on the grass.

We made a trip to the library so Dusty could check out another book on the Revolutionary War (I think he's going through some kind of phase).

We watched the last episode of LOST together on the couch. Me, Dusty, Sara, and Megan, complete with hot Horchata and bites of cheesecake.

A few for family far away

Tyson would be outside all day long if his Mom would let him be! :)

Sending a little spring your way

This photo was taken on Saturday with the bright, early morning sun streaming through the window and over some fresh, hot waffles and ice-cold milk. I thought they were so beautiful. They're a lovely violet color with a vague stippling of pink. Enjoy!
