Prioritizing

So I basically been saying since Tyson was born "I am going to start scrapbooking again today after I finish my chores." I think in my head after that, " yep, after Tys is down for his nap, I'll put in a movie and get going. I have enough time to do at least one page." I even have some great ideas bouncing around up there just waiting to be put down on paper. And wouldn't you know it. Nothing happens. No thats a lie. Things happen. Good things too. Tyson gets fed, played with, laughed with. Dusty gets to eat dinner, and Lauren, and Megan, and Ashley too. My bedroom gets painted. We have clean clothes to wear to our friend's houses. Games get played up a Grandma's on Sunday. The weekly menu gets planned. The piano gets played everyday. But.... no new scrapbook pages. I have done a few mini albums. I guess those kindof count, but nothing with the bazillion of pictures I have in my photo box. Obstacle numero uno. Scrap crap is in Tyson's room. The only place for it really. Everyone says" Why don't you scrap when Tyson is napping?" Well, Tyson is a pretty light sleeper. Case and point. Can't do it in his room. Obstacle B. It takes about an hour to move everything somewhere else in order to do the scrapbooking. By the time I move it all to get ready to make a page, time is up. I would leave it all stacked in the kitchen, but the clutter drives me insane, and Dusty hates it too. Tyson doesn't really care, but that's beside the point. Something must be done. Any ideas? I guess I need a goal. At least one page a week. I think I can do that. Ironically, I probably could have done part of a page while typing this. Well, Tyson is ready for a nap. What should I do when he's sleeping?

That's a hard one. Lately I've been trying to organize my photos and stuff. It takes a lot of time, especially if you have to catch up.

I recently decided to try and spend a little bit of time on it on Sundays. It's been hard because there's so much stuff I want to get done on Sundays.

So, really, what I'm saying is that I can't help you out there.

Did you hear that LOST changed to 9 p.m.? What are we going to do? Megan would miss the beginning if we watched it then, and starting at 10 p.m. isn't very attractive to me!

Cardine! 9:00? I suppose we could start without Meggie, be taping at the same time, and then rewind so she could see what she missed. Maybe she could make the extra effort to get home earlier. I suppose that would work. Plus, Tyson usually eats around 9:30. So, taping would be important to me too.

Yeah, no matter what it's going to be inconvenient, I think.

Get a DVR ladies :) That's the only way I watch ANYthing these days. Well, besides Wonder Pets and Little Einsteins and Cars and Nemo. Like my friend Kip...I love technology.

And I'm sure there are other ways other people handle things....but they had other kids. I had everything sitting there and 8 gazillion photos but didn't really scrap anything until she was about one. I kept journals and the baby book so I'd have all the info of what important stuff what happening when, and all the little stuff about her at various points in her life....but then it sat there.

As wonderful as it is in many ways, scrapbooking is just an extra. So don't feel like you're not getting everything done you need to. And when you do get to it, leave most of your photos in the box! You'll have time when you're 80 to go back if you need to :) Just keep the journal so you don't forget all the details.

I just can't justify getting a DVR for only 1 hour of television per week! (and only for half the year!)

True true. What a good hour you've chosen too! I've been recording yoga and pilates shows and just keeping them around until I'm sick of them and want to move on to a new episode. Which, if you know about my laziness....takes a while :)
