Here's a quick recipe we made for a dinner about a week ago. It's for caramel sauce on ice cream, or popcorn, if you're one of those. It's absolutely amazing, so I had to share it. We recieved the recipe from a family friend. Thanks Geri!
In a sauce pan, combine:
1 cup butter
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups white sugar
2 cups karo syrup
Heat on medium until soft-ball stage, stirring every once in a while. To check soft-ball stage, fill a small bowl with cold water and spoon a little of the sauce into it. If the sauce balls up, but doesn't harden, it is ready.
Next, add 1 more cup of cream and stir together. Cook for a few more minutes and voila! You have some yummy, spoon lickin' goodness. Enjoy!
