first day of HOT

Those of you who know me know that I am NOT a heat-lovin' person. I grew up in the frigid north and my blood still hasn't thinned enough for me to enjoy these hot days. So I sit around feeling lazy and wanting to take the day off. Yes, my piano, sofa table, okay, basically everything needs to be dusted off, kitchen floor needs to be mopped, and Tyson needs a bath. Severely. I think he was licking dirt off of his legs....

And here I am downloading music off of iTunes, checking my eBay bids, and enjoying my ice-water. My poor thirsty plants outside are drooping sadly, and I just can't muster the courage to brave the backyard. I did take Tyson on a little walk and I haven't cooled off from it yet. Just so you know, I haven't been completely useless today. I am in the process of painting my hallway. I got it all prepped and primed, so now it's just get Tyson to bed and I can finish the first coat.

I'm sure all of you in really warm climates are laughing at me hating 90 degree weather, but I am still going to enjoy my large fan blowing on me from two feet away (we don't have central air dang it) and let my toddler run around in his diaper for a little while longer as he practices jumping off of the couch.

For those of you who don't mind the hot, I applaud you. Maybe someday I will change, but for now my weekend bags are remaining unpacked because that means I have to be in a room without a fan. I would turn on the swamp cooler, but it's in the hallway where I am currently painting... don't want to have the paint get dirt on it since we haven't really used the cooler yet this spring.

Spring? Who am I kidding. I think summer is officially here.

While I grew up in the cold like you I enjoy the heat but it gets sooo hot her in California. I like it most of the time except June-October then it's way too hot. The sad thing is I can't stand hardly any cold anymore. WHen I visit Utah and Wyoming I'm a baby-no longer used to it. I get cold at 60degrees. In wyoming that'd be a warm day for us

First and foremost, come join me where it is 100+, j/k. I actually don't mind it. Yes it is hot, but I guess mentally I have prepared myself...now let's see what I say in about a month when it is 110+ degrees outside. I may be a little mentally unstable at that point ha ha
Second, if you are on to your hallway, I take it that the bathroom was a success!! Yeah, how do you like the chocolate brown, I bet it looks awesome! Way to go.
What color are you doing the hallway?

Lindsey, we love the brown in the bathroom. It's very warming, although it is a cooler color and paired with the aqua and white, it looks great. I had Dusty put in a backsplash over the sink. That has added a lot too. The hallway is just a light brown color that will go with all the rooms that open to it. I have wanted color in the hallway for a long time. I was sick of white white white.

I heard your paint looks fabulous! You have a great eye for that stuff. I took the "blue" from those towels (yes, I own them as well) and painted that in our bedroom. I feel it's a cool and tranquil color and helps me to sleep better. Well... who am I kidding, I've got my eyes closed! :)
